Revive Festival 2019

Gravitize were asked to design and deliver technical production for Revive 2019, Co-Mission London’s annual festival held at the University of Kent in Canterbury. The weekend in June boasts live music, entertainment, youth work and Big Top celebrations.
Objectives & Strategy
Immersing delegates in this year’s thematic branding designed by Co-Mission’s creative team. Co-Mission have a very talented creative department who work hard to develop visual concepts to communicate each annual festival theme. Focussing our set and lighting design around this concept was crucial in engaging the delegates in the live experience alongside print and digital.
We utilised over 25 meters of Martin VDO Sceptron LED video fixture to build a huge, high resolution LED cross centre stage. With an impressive 10mm pitch depth and pixel mapping, we were able to use the Sceptron to highlight colours from projected media and release visual effects across the stage area and wings. By integrating industry leading technology, we created an immersive experience that enabled delegates to focus on the stage content.
Communicating the content to a big audience with clarity and impact.The Big Top at Revive Festival hosts speakers, seminars, drama pieces and live music. It is crucial that all stage content translates across a large venue and that everyone can see, hear and feel the impact of the carefully planned sessions.
The stage was built on site to custom specification across an extended fan shape which enabled seats to be closer to the presenter than in a traditional “end-on” layout. Drawing in even the delegates furthest away, we provided a full video and camera solution displayed across two projection surfaces angled at 110 degrees to mirror the seating. We deployed d&b audiotechnik’s industry leading Array Processing technology across the audio system to deliver the same accurate, full range audio experience to every member of the audience.
